Owner and Reno native Melony Marie moved to Brooklyn, NY in the middle of the 2008 recession, just weeks after completing the cosmetology program at The International Academy of Style. She walked the busy streets of Manhattan with no salon experience and a fresh resume in hand hoping to get her "dream job" in the big city. Little did she know, no established salons would hire a new stylist who had no "blowout" experience. Eager and determined, she landed an assistant position at a prestigious salon on the Upper East Side and was "blown away" by the high demand of this "blowout" service. Working women, stay-at-home moms, nannies, college students and more...even during a recession, every woman had blowouts scheduled as a part of her permanent routine--not as a luxury, but as a necessity for the woman on the go. No justifying why they MUST have their hair styled 2 to 3 times a week; it simply made life easier. Mel knew she must master this unknown service. She fell in love with styling all types of hair and opened a full-service salon in 2012. Now, back home 15 years later, she takes joy in introducing this membership-based service to women in Reno.
